monoclinic crystalline or amorphous powder of off-white or light pink. Density 2.74g/cm3. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, insoluble in cold water and nitric acid.
The ferrous nitrate solution was heated to 95-110 °c to dissolve the whole. In the presence of an oxidizing agent, an arsenic removing agent and a heavy metal removing agent are added for solution purification and filtration to remove arsenic and heavy metal impurities. Then, the above refined ferrous nitrate solution is added to the reactor, and the refined concentrated phosphoric acid and pure iron phosphate with arsenic removal are added under stirring. The reaction is heated under constant stirring to generate iron phosphate precipitate, which is filtered, iron phosphate was obtained by washing and drying. Or ferrous sulfate is added to distilled water to heat and dissolve all, in the presence of oxidant, arsenic removal agent and heavy metal removal agent are added for solution purification and filtration, and refined ferrous sulfate solution is added to the reactor, the purified concentrated phosphoric acid in which arsenic had been removed was added with stirring, and then the purified sodium chlorate solution was added, and the reaction was carried out at 85 °c. Slowly add the edible caustic soda solution, adjust the pH value to 2~6, precipitate the iron phosphate, filter and dry to obtain the iron phosphate.
It is used as an iron fortifier in the food industry. Its performance is stable, not easy to react and affect the quality of food, is an ideal iron source preparation, used for protein, rice products and paste products.
GRAS(FDA, & sect;182, 5301,2000). Should be stored in a cool, ventilated, dry, clean warehouse, moisture. To prevent pollution by toxic and hazardous substances, and not to be stored together with toxic and hazardous substances. Transport should be protected from rain and sun exposure. During loading and unloading, care should be taken to avoid breakage of the package. When there is a fire, it can be suppressed by using water, sand, and various kinds of fire retardants.
